FIELD DAY!
Field Day @ MCS – Friday, May 31st
Field Day is this week! Here are some important things the Field Day Committee wants you to know:
- Field Day takes place at the school. There is regular busing, pickup and campus cuisine for the day.
- Grilled lunch ordering is closed, but the grilled lunch was just an option – Del’s are still provided if you choose to bring a lunch or order Campus Cuisine. If you ordered Campus Cuisine and need to change, please make sure to do so before 12:00pm on Thursday.
- Shirt color assignments (blue, red, green or yellow) were sent home with students. Please reach out to your teacher if you did not receive your child(ren)’s team color yet. Wearing school gym shorts along with your team color tee is suggested.
- Please be sure to apply sunscreen to your child(ren) before school and send your student(s) in with a water bottle. Last year it was 80 degrees and sunny!!! Hats are a great idea too.
- Some of the events use water and therefore students may get wet. Please feel free to send students in with a change of shirt/clothes/shoes and/or a towel if this is a concern for you.
- Volunteers – please arrive at the school no later than 8:30 AM, report to the school gym, and be ready to have some fun!
- Volunteers are asked to park across Rt. 1 in the Shaw’s parking lot and walk across. This is for the safety of the children and because Field Day utilizes the entire campus including the parking lots.

Scholastic Book Fair – Tuesday – Thursday
The PTO will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair in the school library this week with classes visiting during their library or ELN time. The book fair will be open until 3:30pm all 3 days!
If you’d like to volunteer for the Book Fair on Wednesday, please sign up using the SIGN-UP GENIUS.
There is NO book fair on Friday (Field Day).
If you’ve never been to Field Day….

This is an annual tradition, funded by the PTO. Field day will begin at 9am and everyone at MCS (Little Angels through 8th grade) participates!
Each grade travels together as a grade, all day. Each grade will have a mix of red, blue, green and yellow team members. LA through middles school students high-five as they pass each other at stations all day long!
There are 22 fun activities all around campus (and in the gym) to visit which are run by our amazing volunteers, including a dunk tank! At each station, teachers record team scores. Lunches are generally served outside (although teachers may opt to take a break inside) with PTO supplying Dels for everyone! After each grade visits all 22 stations, teachers tally up the red, blue, green and yellow team scores for their grade and pass them in to the Field Day Committee. The committee will then tallies all team scores and Dr. Lisi announces the team’s scores at afternoon announcements!
