Principal
Mrs. Stacy Peterson
How long have you worked at MCS?
This is my first year!
A little about Stacy’s background
I taught second grade for 7 years. Most recently, before coming to Monsignor Clarke, I served as the Dean of Students at a Catholic school in Coventry for two years before taking on this role as Principal.
Certifications & Education
I received my B.S. in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from Bridgewater State University, and my Master’s in ESL and Bilingual Education from the American College of Education. I hold Rhode Island Teacher Certifications in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, and ESL. I am currently pursuing an additional degree in Educational Leadership.
What brings you joy outside of school?
Reading new books, going to the beach, and relaxing outside with my husband, our dog, and our farm animals!
What do you love most about working at Monsignor Clarke?
I love seeing the students’ smiling faces as they enter the school each morning.
Favorite subject/activity to teach or be part of?
History and science!
Favorite quote, scripture, or life motto
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart” (Proverbs 3:5). I truly believe God has a plan for all of us; things will always work out, and God will always provide.
One thing people might not know about me
I was a foster parent, and I took figure skating lessons from age 7 to 18!

Mrs. Jill Royer
How long have you worked at MCS?
This is my 3rd year.
A little about Jill’s background
I taught high school ELA for a lot of years before becoming an administrator, and while I sometimes miss my own classroom, I love being in other teachers’ classrooms. I learn something new everyday, whether it’s in a 1st grade classroom or an 8th grade one!
Certifications
I received my B.A. in English from the University of Rhode Island, my RI Teacher Certification in Secondary (Grades 6 – 12) ELA from Rhode Island College, and my Master’s from Providence College in School Leadership.
What brings you joy outside of school?
Reading books during the summer by the pool. Singing at the top of my lungs in the car (…or at morning drop-off!) Going to Disney with my husband and my son!
What do you love most about working at Monsignor Clarke?
I get hugs everyday. I think everyone needs a job where they get hugs daily.
Favorite subject/activity to teach or be part of?
English, of course. But I also love to cover in Mr. Chadwick’s P.E. class occasionally!

One thing people might not know about me
Before I became a teacher, I lived in California and learned how to surf and snowboard in the same week.
