Educating the Whole Child
At Monsignor Clarke School, we believe in nurturing the whole child—academically, physically, socially, and spiritually. Our robust enrichment programs in the arts, music, physical education, and technology engage students from Pre-K through grade 8, supporting their development across all areas of growth.
Music Education
The music program at MCS is designed to foster a love and understanding of music across all grade levels. Students develop vocal skills, become musically literate at age-appropriate levels, and explore the role of music in Catholic worship, particularly at Mass. They also learn to identify instrument families, study notable composers, and prepare two pieces annually for performance. Using a spiral curriculum, musical concepts are introduced and revisited each year, allowing students to build confidence and mastery over time.
We are proud to offer both choir and instrumental band opportunities for students who wish to deepen their musical involvement.
Visual Arts
Students attend weekly art classes where they explore a variety of media including painting, drawing, sculpture, and ceramics—utilizing the school’s own kiln. Artistic instruction includes foundational concepts such as color theory, shading, and perspective, encouraging creativity, focus, and appreciation of the visual arts.
Physical Education
Keeping kids active is essential to their well-being. Our physical education curriculum promotes an active lifestyle, motor skill development, cognitive performance, and positive social interaction. Students participate in a range of movement-based activities that emphasize teamwork, health, and fun.
Technology & Innovation
MCS also offers enriching instruction in computer science and digital tools that build 21st-century skills. From early exposure to basic digital literacy to more advanced problem-solving and programming, students learn to use technology thoughtfully and effectively as part of a well-rounded education.
