Located in Wakefield, Rhode Island, Monsignor Matthew F. Clarke School is a Catholic co-educational school with students enrolled from pre-kindergarten through grade 8. As a Diocesan regional school, MCS welcomes students from parishes throughout Southern Rhode Island, and offers bus transportation throughout the region for students in grades K-8. Students of all faiths are welcome to apply.
The Catholic tradition is alive and well at Monsignor Clarke School. We strive to provide an atmosphere that supports the whole child, and focuses on building confidence, capability, a healthy sense of self, and an awareness of and concern for others. Within the context of our faith, we teach our students how to learn, and more importantly, how to question and understand the world around them. Our educational programs place emphasis on the spiritual, intellectual, physical and aesthetic development of each student.
MCS students enjoy a wide range of academic, athletic, and social opportunities. Our LabLearner™ science lab, the first of its kind in New England, offers lab-based science to all of our students beginning in Pre-Kindergarten. Clubs, such as our student council and service club, strive to involve our students in organizing events, raising awareness, and helping others outside of our school. Our middle school students compete in a range of sports, including soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, cross country and track. Other opportunities include Girls on the Run™, school newspaper, drama, band, and karate. We have a very active PTO that supports many social events, raises funds to enrich our school, and provides parent volunteers for school-based projects. MCS offers before- and after-school child care to accommodate our families.
