PTO Meeting Notes 11-15-18

Thanks to everyone who came to the State of the School, as well as the PTO meeting. Please find notes from the meeting below:

• Uniform Discussion
  • Uniform Providers – MCS is looking to change uniform supplier from Donnelly’s to either Lands’ End or Tommy Hilfiger
  • Administration is looking into certain concerns and has provided a comparison sheet for review
  • The actual uniforms will not change, only the supplier, so the uniforms in rotation can still be used and families will not be required to purchase new uniforms
  • Samples provided for MCS community to review
• PTO Sponsored Fundraising Events
  • Winter Book Fair Update ~ Tuesday, November 27th – Friday, November 30th
    • Set up Mon Nov 26th
    • Will also be open during Christmas Festival
    • Volunteers needed – sign up genius sent out in Sunday’s newsletter
  • Christmas Festival Update (Cassie Barbato) ~ Sunday, December 2nd
    • Still having gift baskets but will be set up differently
    • Monetary donations and gift cards requested – money used to make gift baskets
    • Food is being donated
    • Winter wonderland with crafts, Santa and digital pictures for $5
    • Flyers and yard signs available to help promote event
  • Update from Social chair (Diana McLaughlin) ~ Rock Spot / Whalers
    • Discussion held, event to target middle school
    • Involve Student Council in decision making to help promote event
    • Dates available: Sat Jan 12 after 2:30 or Sun Jan 13
  • Father/Son Event ~ Kate Smith
    • Providence Bruins – November 30th, sign up available
  • Father/Daughter ~ **chairperson needed**
    • Volunteers needed, please see board member to lead event (Jodi K. potentially will lead)
  • Mother/Daughter Event ~ Dr Stuart
    • Committee looking to change format to less expensive, more intimate event
    • Target for Spring 2019
  • Mother/Son Event ~ Anna Selwyn
    • Target for Spring 2019
