Young children learn through play and creative activity, also known as “Play with a Purpose.” Your preschooler’s building blocks and train tracks aren’t just entertaining; they’re teaching problem solving and physics. Preschool is also a time for developing good learning habits and positive self-esteem. The full day pre k program at Monsignor Clarke is a school based program, sought out by parents who are looking for “something more” than just daycare. Built into the program, children participate in art, music, library, spanish and physical education classes weekly.
For many children, preschool is their first experience in a structured setting with teachers and groups of children. It’s an opportunity to learn to share, follow instructions, and begin the foundation for learning that will occur in elementary school.
At Msgr. Clarke, we provide a safe, warm nurturing atmosphere where children can actively explore their environment and materials and build concept knowledge and critical thinking skills. Our teachers strive to nurture each child’s individuality and innate curiosities while instilling a lifelong love for learning as they prepare your children for kindergarten and the world beyond.
Students in our Pre-K program are very much a part of our school community. They travel by class to locations throughout the building to take advantage of special classes in music, art, Spanish, library and physical education. They quickly become familiar with the building, faculty and other students which makes for an easy transition as they advance.
Jr. Waves who graduate from our program will have the first opportunity to advance to our Kindergarten program and continue on in our rigorous academic elementary and middle school programs. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply early as space is very limited.
